He is willing to design these active workshops to suit your "culture" and your staff. Testimonials to his effectiveness are available from previous clients. Communication in the Workplace: Could it be improved through knowing your preferences?

Using the VARK questionnaire as a catalyst for improving communication in a range of different environments - training, HR, customer service, education, sports coaching....

Participants take a brief Questionnaire (VARK - Visual, Aural, Read/write and Kinesthetic) to identify their communication preferences. They get feedback on their preferences and discuss the implications for learning in their own environment. We use groups to examine some VARK Profiles and the preferences for specific business and educational strategies. Participants are challenged to consider strategies within and 'outside' their own preferences and to consider methods for use in their workplace.

Outcomes

At the end of the workshop you will:
  • know more about your own and your colleagues learning preferences.
  • be able to use VARK confidently with your staff, clients, customers, students.
  • have gathered strategies to cope with the diversity in communication preferences.
  • examine your business through a different lens and adapt processes to effect change..
  • be keen to use your new knowledge with others.
  • know the basis from which VARK was created.

55 Strategies for improved learning

A host of techniques based on learning principles for improving teaching, training, mentoring and learning.

This very interactive workshop provides participants with at least 15 walkaway practical strategies to help learners. They are techniques that work on "Monday morning". The 55 Strategies that Neil offers, cover a range of different contexts from training and teaching strategies to suggestions for involving learners in reflection and metacognition. There are opportunities for participants to contribute their own ideas to achieve more effective learning. The workshop uses group work in an interesting and engaging way.

Outcomes

At the end of the workshop you will:

  • leave with a number of practical suggestions for change
  • have contributed your own best practice ideas for others..
  • have identified the learning potential in a number of examples from best practice.
